King Kendrick's Victory Lap: Uniting L.A. and Celebrating Juneteenth 2024

Kendrick Lamar put on one of the most memorable hip hop performances in recent history on Wednesday night in Inglewood, full of highlights and excitement following his beef with Drake. The concert was a triumphant victory lap for Kendrick, celebrated by fans as a decisive win in his recent rap battle with Drake. He emphasized this by performing "Not Like Us" five times in a row, even using the instrumental to close out the show. Juneteenth 2024 will be remembered for Kendrick's incredible performance. West Coast DJs Hed and Mustard opened the show, bringing plenty of energy and guest appearances to hype up the crowd. The event was star-studded, with music stars and athletes like LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, DeMar DeRozan, and James Harden in attendance. Anti-Drake supporters The Weeknd and Rick Ross were also there. Tyler, The Creator, YG, and Ty Dolla $ign headlined the DJ sets, showcasing talent like 310babiii, OhGeesy, KalanFrFr, and "krump" legend Tommy The Clown. When Kendrick finally took the stage, he didn't hold back, kicking off his set with the diss track "Euphoria," aimed squarely at Drake. He was joined by his TDE and Black Hippy groupmates—Jay Rock, ScHoolboy Q, and Ab-Soul—performing another Drake diss, “6:16 in LA.” The night’s biggest surprise came from Kendrick's mentor, Dr. Dre, who energized the crowd with "Still D.R.E." and "California Love," leading into Kendrick's intense performance of "Not Like Us." Beyond the rap beef, the most impactful moment was when Kendrick brought together members of several L.A. gangs onstage, calling for unity in the wake of Nipsey Hussle and Kobe Bryant’s deaths. Bloods, Crips, Pirus, Hoovers, and others stood together, symbolizing hope for an end to gang violence. King Kendrick truly delivered a night to remember.
