Rap Legend Rich Homie Quan Passes Away at 34

Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan, whose real name was Dequantes Devontay Lamar, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 34. The news of his death was confirmed by Fulton County Medical Examiner on Thursday, and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday to determine the cause. Quan rose to fame in the mid-2010s with hits like "Type of Way" and "Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)". He was nominated for multiple BET and BET Hip Hop Awards and collaborated with numerous prominent artists, including 2 Chainz, Young Thug, Gucci Mane, and Trinidad James. Born in 1989, Quan grew up in Atlanta and faced challenges early in life, including a 15-month stint in jail for burglary. Despite these setbacks, he pursued his passion for music and eventually achieved significant success. Since his passing, the entire hip hop community, from fellow rappers and fans have sent tributes. Jacquees, 2 Chainz, and Quavo were among those who expressed their condolences and shared memories of Quan. Engineer Alex Tumay described Quan as "one of the nicest people I ever worked with and a true artist." Rest In Peace.
