Snoop Dogg and His Son Join Forces for Death Row Games

by Maurice Pendarvis |

Throughout gaming history, the spotlight on people of color has been historically dim, with a noticeable lack of representation in the industry. However, there's a silver lining in recent years as the narrative is gradually shifting, with representation rightfully claiming a more prominent position on the stage.

In a groundbreaking move within the gaming industry, Snoop Dogg and his son, Cordell Broadus, have united to establish their own game development studio, aiming to empower minority creatives by facilitating their content publication on Fortnite through the cutting-edge Unreal Editor. Since the recent introduction of Epic Games' revolutionary Creative 2.0, or Fortnite's Unreal Engine for Fortnite (UEFN), innovative developers have been harnessing its capabilities to craft compelling experiences within the gaming realm. Now, Snoop Dogg is set to elevate the game by delving into the expansive world of Fortnite and amplifying UEFN's untapped potential.

Recognized as a seasoned player in the gaming arena, Snoop Dogg has been a prominent game streamer for several years, boasting an impressive stint as a member of the esports powerhouse FaZe Clan until April of last year. His influence in the gaming community has surged in recent times, fueled by notable collaborations with the likes of Call of Duty. Activision, in a momentous announcement back in July, revealed plans to introduce Snoop Dogg and Nicki Minaj-themed skins to the iconic Call of Duty franchise. This was soon followed by the unveiling of a Snoop Dogg finisher in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 nearly two months later. However, his latest endeavor marks a significant milestone as he ventures into uncharted territory, poised to become a formidable force in the gaming industry as a potential game publisher.
