Rapper Sean Kingston and Mother Face Extradition to Florida on Fraud Charges

by Maurice Pendarvis |

Remember Sean Kingston? Don't feel bad if you don't, he hasn't been in the conversation since 2007. But for those that do remember, ya boy is in deep water again.

Kingston was arrested last Thursday at Fort Irwin, California, while performing. His mother, Janice Turner, 61, was arrested the same day during a SWAT raid on his rented mansion in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They are charged with fraud, grand theft, and identity theft, accused of stealing money, jewelry, a Cadillac Escalade, and furniture.

Rapper and singer Sean Kingston waived his right to fight extradition in California on Tuesday, agreeing to be transferred to Florida, where he and his mother face over a million dollars in fraud charges.

Kingston, 34, signed documents to bypass extradition hearings and remained in a Southern California jail. Arrangements are being made to transport him to Florida, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez.

Kingston, known for his 2007 hit “Beautiful Girls” and collaboration with Justin Bieber on “Eenie Meenie,” is on probation for trafficking stolen property. His mother served nearly 1.5 years in prison for a 2006 bank fraud conviction.

Their attorney, Robert Rosenblatt, stated they waived extradition and are confident of resolving the charges in Florida.
