Piece By Piece: Pharrell's LEGO-Powered Biopic

Pharrell Williams has just released the trailer for his upcoming biopic, Piece By Piece, and it's all about snapping together his life story with LEGO animation! The trailer kicks off with a LEGO Pharrell discussing the project with director Morgan Neville, and let's just say, the scene clicks together with a delightful surprise.

Piece By Piece will build Pharrell's journey from his early days in Virginia, stacking up to his rise as a superstar in the music industry. The biopic is filled with animated cameos from music giants like Gwen Stefani, Kendrick Lamar, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Busta Rhymes, JAY-Z, and Snoop Dogg. Fans can also groove to Pharrell's hits like "Happy," "Drop It Like It's Hot," and "Rockstar." Plus, he's even crafted some new musical bricks just for the film!

“There are two new tracks,” Pharrell shared. “One’s built for a specific scene, and the other one tells the story in a unique way. It’s like my thesis—showing that God is the greatest, and that understanding is key. The rest of the soundtrack is a mix of tunes I made with Chad Hugo and songs we produced and wrote for others. It’s a fun, musical documentary biopic.”

Pharrell also explained why they chose LEGO animation to tell his story. “We wanted it to be a medium that’s relatable and inspiring for everyone. Whether you're 7 or 77, we hope you feel that you can wake up tomorrow and start building your own story, piece by piece,” he said.
