It's Official: Last Friday, the Fourth Friday Movie, Is Happening

The long-awaited fourth Friday movie, officially titled Last Friday, is finally happening. New Line Cinema president Richard Brener confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that a deal is set for Ice Cube to write and star in the sequel, reprising his role as Craig. This marks a significant step forward after years of Ice Cube pushing for the film, which struggled through development delays. Cube had previously expressed sharp frustration with New Line, particularly regretting in 2022 that delays prevented making the film with John Witherspoon (Craig's father) before his passing in 2019. With Tommy "Tiny" Lister Jr. (Deebo) passing in 2020, the sequel will move forward without two key original cast members. Despite these past hurdles and sad losses, the confirmation from New Line signals that Last Friday is now officially on track, continuing the franchise that includes Friday (1995), Next Friday (2000), and Friday After Next (2002).
