DOUBLE TEASER FEATURE: STREET FIGHTER & SUPERGIRL

An official teaser trailer for the highly anticipated live-action Street Fighter film adaptation was recently unveiled at The Game Awards 2025. Produced by Legendary Entertainment in partnership with Capcom, the trailer offers the first look at a rebooted vision of the iconic fighting-game franchise, immediately setting itself apart from previous attempts, such as the 1994 and 2009 adaptations. This new version, directed by Kitao Sakurai, is positioned as a more grounded martial-arts film, echoing the tone and character dynamics of the original games while establishing a specific setting of 1993. The teaser prominently featured a star-studded ensemble cast, including Andrew Koji as Ryu, the lead, and Noah Centineo as Ken Masters. The initial character reveals also highlighted Callina Liang as Chun-Li and WWE star Joe "Roman Reigns" Anoa’i taking on the role of Akuma. Paramount Pictures is set to distribute the film, which will be shot in IMAX and is currently slated for release on October 16, 2026.

James Gunn's DCU Debuts First Supergirl Trailer: A Gritty, Punk Take on the Kryptonian Cousin

DC Studios has unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming Supergirl film, directed by Craig Gillespie and based on Tom King’s graphic novel Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, with a release date set for June 26, 2026. Set to Blondie’s “Call Me,” the preview immediately positions Milly Alcock’s Kara Zor-El as a sharp contrast to Superman, encapsulated by her defining line, “He sees the good in everyone. And I see the truth.” Director Gillespie emphasizes the film’s “anti-hero story” nature, highlighting a cynical Kara struggling with inner turbulence and “a lot of baggage and a lot of demons,” a take that James Gunn has supported, calling Alcock the “punk” version of the hero. The trailer showcases a chaotic, gritty aesthetic reminiscent of Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy, featuring Supergirl navigating alien colonies. It offers first looks at Jason Momoa as the anti-hero Lobo and Matthias Schoenaerts as the villain Krem.
